"Work" day....

As part of a 'team building' exercise at a work conference today we went to McMaster University and climbed their Alpine Tower. I have included a group shot, I'm still hoping to get a couple individual shots. We were all harnessed in and we had to spot eachother, holding someone else's life in your hands, strange feeling, but really fun!! I climbed higher then I expected considering I'm afraid of hights (well and the fact that I'm lacking in the upperbody strength department). It was a great day. Thanks for organizing girls!

More Baseball....

So this summer I not only signed Reuben up for baseball I wanted to return to the sport myself.... I'll admit it wasn't the greatest summer. There was a TON of team drama, I didn't know these girls I just wanted to play ball. In the end there were 8 (we started with 18 or something) of us for the season ending tournament. We actually had some fun during those 2 days. I can't see myself playing for the 'WILDCATS' next year, but I'd really like to play again, so we'll see what happens. Here's a few snap shots, should I be posting them, probably not, but enjoy anyway!

Here's me concentrating on the next pitch.
And running....... (okay stop lauging)
We couldn't even really get it together for a group photo. This was a fun bunch to play with for the weekend. Of course I should mention we managed to win 3 regular season games and NONE in the tournament to secure LAST place. Better luck next year??

Baseball Boy

This summer Reuben wanted to play baseball instead of soccer and he really enjoyed himself.

He played with Logan King and Isaac Fisher and Noah DeVries played for the other Jr. Tykes team.

Are you ready for the ball Reuben???
Nice hit Reuben!
Reuben & Logan, short stop & 3rd base.......
They are all Superstars!
Just like an Olympic metal, Reuben has been so in to watching the Olympics this week and now he's SO proud of his own metal.

We've got another one OFF!!

While we were camping Mason got loads of practice riding his bike and he got really good at it! Soon after we arrived home Darren and I were watching Mason bike around (totally NOT using his training wheels at all) so off the training wheels came and this is what happened!! Big smiles from the PROUD little man!
Watch him go........
He looks like a pro doesn't he?
Mason was so proud that he could ride a 2 wheeler just like Reuben, he even asked me to take some pictures of him. I still can't believe it, my 2 little men BOTH can ride 2 wheelers already - I'm so proud of Mason, he's only 3!!! What an accomplishment.

Vacation........ I think NOT!

Killbear, July 2008 should be the title of this entry with tons of pictures of all the camping fun that we SHOULD
have had...... well you can see that is not so. On our way to Killbear on Saturday the 26th of July we stopped at Wendy's in Nobel - Darren ate a chicken burger - we all ate hamburgers. We arrived at camp and got all set up, looking forward to 10 glorious days. The next day Darren began to feel sick and by Tuesday morning I was worried sick and so we decided with Darren's medical history we'd better get him checked out..... off to West Parry Sound Medical Center. My Dad took him, I stayed back with the kids, at dinner time Dad returned without Darren, WHAT?? They admitted him, so off I went to see what was up. They had him in complete isolation (I had to wear gloves, mask & the whole get up), he was on IV - morphine drip for the extreme pain, I was sort of panicked, but had to worry about my kids too. THANK GOODNESS my parents were there to help me out!! Well by Friday they determined it was Samonella poisoning..... we don't know for sure, but think the cause was the Wendy's on the way in. grrrr. Due to Darren's compromised immune system, his reaction was much worse then most people. We are sooooo thankful that he was okay and was able to come 'home' to camp. My parents took Jules home with them and so Darren, the boys and I stayed at camp until Sunday. The kids still had a great week, but I'll write more about the week at camp when I have a chance to post some pictures. Darren is starting to feel better, but is still very tired all the time, we are just so thankful that he's okay, PRAISE THE LORD!
