JANE RODERMOND HILL

Darren's Mom passed away today, after a long battle she fought to win eternal life. This morning at 9:50am with Pastor John Bowers and Darren there with her, she won her battle and joined her Heavenly Father in Glory! Here's what Darren & I helped complete (it's mostly the work of Aunt Mary Slump and Aunt Debbie Slagter)
JANE RODERMOND HILL
November 7, 1947 - April 15, 2008
Jane was born in the hospital in Leewarden, Friesland on November 7, 1947 to Margaret and Jan Rodermond. She was the youngest of 9 children. The Rodermond family came to Canada when Jane was just 2 and ½ years old. While on the boat she needed to be tied up because she had a tendency to roam and her Mom was afraid she would fall over the rail. They first lived in Elmwood, Ontario and from there they moved to Forest and then to Watford where Jane started school. She went to a one room school with Miss Edwards as her teacher, more then half of the students were dutch immigrants. After this her family moved to Sarnia were she attended a “Big” 4 room Sarnia Christian School. Again a move to Wellandport, it was in Wellandport where Jane began her passion for sports. She won many ribbons in short sprints and running long jump. In 1959 her parents sold the farm and moved to St. Ann’s. After her father passed away in July 1959 her family moved once again, to Ancaster. She graduated from Calvin Christian School. From there she went to Ancaster High. She developed much talent for VolleyBall and Track and won many trophies. This is where she met David. After highschool she worked at McMaster Hospital in a typing team. She always had a huge love for Baseball and played on MANY teams over the years. She was married to David, June 28, 1969. They were blessed with 3 children, Marlisa, James and Darren. Camping was a favourite family time when the kids were little. When Darren was 5 she returned to the work force, working for many years as a waitress at Hamilton Golf and Country Club and then to Lynwood Hall, were she spent many nights as she went on to work there for more then 25 years. All through this time in her life she enjoyed singing in the Adoramus-Maranatha Choir in Hamilton. She loved to sing and had a fabulous voice. In July 1990 she proudly welcomed her first Grandchild and was excited to be called Beppe. She was always proud of her 5 Granddaughters and 2 Grandsons and was looking forward to another grandchild. In 1994 Jane returned to Holland with all her siblings and got to meet all her cousins. She enjoyed every moment of this trip. In all the years the Rodermond family joined together for a reunion Jane did not miss one year! She loved her family and was so proud to be able to watch all her children fall in love and marry. She looked so forward to joining the heavenly choirs and sitting at the feet of her Heavenly Father.
