I decided to try the old Dutch tradition of ringing in the New Year with some yummy OLIEBOLEN (I don't know if that's how to spell it). With a little of my Mom's help with the dough - her original recipe and the tricks on how to make it taste just so...... You need the dough and HOT oil - not always the safest on the stove, but a must to ensure 'cooked to taste'!!

Look at you, ya dutch mama you! Way to go . . . they look pretty darn good if you ask me (especially the shape). I assume you had a nice big dish of icing sugar close by too?!?!

I see you are picking up bad habits from your Mom..... honestly a deep fryer works perfectly and it isnt dangerous at all haha
I also used your Mom's recipe - and they were delicious if I do say so myself ...but I was instructed to make them with no raisins or apple - and they still were delicious xoxox Sylv
Hey where are your Christmas pic's you can't just jump to new years....plus where are the steller pic's from the cottage! ha.
okay... you need to mail some over here! They might look like chicken wings but lather on the icing sugar and there is no confusing the fact! Mom's recipe rocks!
